Super Bowl 40

Mick

Okay – I get it, I 'make a grown man cry'…. Aren’t there any other lyrics to this song? Why am I laughing hysterically while watching the Rolling Stones ‘perform’? Is Mick Jagger out of breath? Do I really need to see Mick Jagger gyrate across the stage?

But really – the question is, how is it that the Rolling Stones can still be the hot ticket for an event like the Super Bowl? Shouldn’t they be retired by now? Or does it speak louder of the Super Bowl’s target audience? And I’m sure Janet Jackson’s horrible garment malfunction performance with Justin Timberlake didn’t help much. I guess I should give the Rolling Stones credit for still being able to rock a crowd… Maybe I should aspire to gyrate like Mick when I reach his ripe age of 63?

And yes, the Seahawks lost. I don’t know much about football and don’t claim to do so but I can’t help thinking that the refs were hard on the Seahawks. There were several bad penalty calls against them during the 1st half. The worst part was the 4th Quarter – the Seahawks offense crumbled and it hurt to watch. I almost cried when I had to accept that the Seahawks lost.

But I do love Hines Ward...

Do the Math

It's been a really long time since I've posted something and my list of entries grows longer and longer each day. I've been waiting for the perfect first entry for the New Year or something really grand to make up for my long absence but if I wait any longer, I'll never get back to blogging....

Tonight Lindsay & Co came over for dinner. We ordered our favorite pizzas from Zeek's – Thai One On & the Texas Leaguer. My sister first introduced me to Zeek's back in 1992 when she was a student at Seattle Pacific University. I used to visit Sook on campus and we'd walk to Zeek's first location on Dravus Street.

I remember talking with one of the owners who explained that he was a computer programmer but decided to open a pizza joint because he was burnt out of the corporate world. He wore a navy blue visor, white t-shirt, khaki shorts and seemed a little unsure if Zeek's would be a success. Um... 14 years later and 6 locations... I think he made the right decision.

But a bit of advise to the man... you should make sure your delivery people have a basic understanding of addition and subtraction before hiring them. After I handed the delivery guy $40, he asked me how much I'd like back. I told him to keep $3 and to give me the rest. He then asked me how much was the rest. Excuse me? Um - if you can't figure the math out, either you should have a pocket calculator or shouldn't take a job that requires you to handle cash as one of your basic job responsibilities.

Is It Wrong?

That I judge men by the shoes they wear? I can't help it. Although extremely rare, I have forgiven a few people for their choice in shoes. But come on... I love shoes. So why torture me?

Seattle's New Smoking Ban

Seattle's new smoking ban for bars/clubs took effect on December 8th. Yesterday was the first time going out to bars in Seattle without coming home and taking a shower because I reak of smoke and my throat and eyes buring. I will admit that there are some flaws to the actual wording of the initiative but I'm still stoked that the ban passed.

Playing Catch Up

I'm starting to feel bad about my lack of postings. I've got so many entries in the works and so many links to post but there just never seems to be enough time!!

I still plan to post photos from my last trip to DC... playing darts with Larry... links sent from friends... and so much more. And yes, Pablo, I'll post more photos of me dancing, shopping, puttering, and whatever else I do.

My goal is to add new entries every Monday. And time permitting, I'll add entries throughout the week. So make sure you check back every Monday.

Another Snow Day

I hate snow. I left snow in Seattle and now I've got snow in DC.

Two months later and I’m in DC again. Why? Because of Ms. Lindsay, of course.

We’ve spent the last two days dressing the house up for the holidays. Last night I spent many hours putting up Christmas tree lights and now my hands are all beat up from being poked by all the fake pine needles. Most people add a few strings of lights to their tree and call it good. Or they buy a fake tree that comes pre-strung with lights. But not me… every branch gets wrapped with several inches of lights. Stringing the tree with lights was a total pain in the ass but I'm a sucker for Ms. Lindsay and I'll do anything to make her day brighter.

Street Fashion

There are so many reasons why I love to travel - and one favorite reason is fashion. I love people watching and checking out local fashion trends.

I've been loving Japanese Streets for years and I just found a new site with the same concept but instead of Japanese locals, it features people from Helsinki. Check out Hel Looks .

Bush People

Bush people make it too damn easy for us...

Bushspam

Boris Yeltsin, president of Russia from 1991 to 1999, receives a complimentary can of Spam® during a visit to the United States. Boris is not amused.

Bushtrap

Jet lag or just dumb? Bush Jr. trapped.

No Megusta Laundry

You know what I hate? Doing laundry. Tonight I turned my white bathroom mat orange. It's not so bad that I can't keep my clothes and dish towels spot free. But what I hate is that I can't seem to figure out how to do laundry. I can't keep my whites white, my brights bright, or my darks dark.
