I putter. And I believe puttering is a skill, it is highly satisfying, and it is something I wish I could do every day. Yesterday was sunny and I felt that the day called for puttering. Lucky for me, Jaclyn was also in the mood to putter.
Our destination was Cloud 9 thrift store on Roosevelt. A few years back, I visited Cloud 9 when I first moved into the Roosevelt area. I remember that they didn’t have a strong selection of goods and that most items were ridicoulsy over priced. Our mission was for each of us to find as many fabulous items totaling no more than $5.01 (including tax). I couldn’t resist a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup tin to add to my collection of tins and a graphic, green and white cloth napkin. Theses items set me back $1.65 - $1.50 for the tin and $.25 for the napkin. I didn’t score too big but I faired better than Jaclyn. She walked out with nothing.

But the real highlight of yesterday’s puttering? A rad 70’s oil painting of a toddler girl in a field full of flowers. The colors, subject matter, and style are all screaming the 70’s. It’s a treasure. The best part – it only cost me $24. Not bad. I walked out feeling satisfied with my purchases and wondering where I should putter to next.
